Laura McCray
Meet Laura McCray
After moving to Salisbury from Towson, MD with her husband and 2 children in 1974, Laura has spent much of
her career in the hospitality industry currently working with Dr. Leonard Berger at the Clarion Resort
Fontainebleu Hotel in Ocean City, MD.

From ballet, tap and toe to tap aerobics and disco, growing up Laura always loved to dance! As a teenager,
Friday and Saturday nights were devoted to dancing with friends at neighborhood teen centers and church
halls. Even at home, door knobs and bed posts were always available as dance partners...and truth be told,
they still are!

Laura's fondness of dance continued into adulthood. "Although I've had many lessons, I do not consider myself
a dancer by any means." I just enjoy music and have happy feet! When first asked to participate in Dancing with
Delmarva Stars, all I could think of was tripping, falling and the humiliation in front of my dear friends and co
workers. Then I considered the Wellness Community and the great organization that it is and how it has
touched and helped so many of us in the community. By participating in this fun event, I not only have an excuse
to dance and have fun, but more importantly to help and give back to a most worthy organization."

Fred Spurlock
Fred Spurlock
Dr. Spurlock is a Salisbury native; graduating from both James M. Bennett and then Salisbury State College, yes Salisbury
State College way back then. He received his Master of Business Administration degree in 1983 and finally his Doctor
ofEducation in 2002. He has two true passions. One is his position as Head of Middle School at Worcester Preparatory
School in Berlin. Dr. Spurlock loves the school. "It is a wonderful, beautiful beacon of education. The saff, parents, children,
board of directors, and alumni come together to create an environment that embraces an academic focus but is safe,
caring and nurturing. It is a school second to none."
His second passion is a love of dancing. He met his wife while teaching at a dance studio 15 years ago. Meg was a dance
student of Dr. Spurlock's. They hit it off and as they say, the rest is history. Dr. Spurlock often says he misses the days
when Meg had to pay to dance with him. Dr. Spurlock trained at Aurthur Murray Dance Studio in Baltimore. He presently
teaches Ballroom Dance at Ocean Pines in Berlin, MD. He has been teaching dance for 15 years and teaching in Ocean
Pines for five years. One of his greatest joys is watching students laugh, have fun and enjoy dancing. "It's great excercise
and a wonderful night out with that special someone!"
