Meet Joan's Dance Instructor .........
Marcus Taggart After dancing with the local legend Shirley Meeks for seven years, Marcus has picked up the torch and now teaches classes with his partner Cora Elliot. Teaching American style social dancing, Marcus believes dancing was meant to be fun. “It’s only dancing. My job is to make the person I’m dancing with look good.” Marcus and Cora teach lessons at the Wicomico Civic Center. When not teaching classes, they are often found at the Green Door. A private studio of Don Wasser’s in Salisbury. “I’ve been quite lucky. I have two wonderful partners. Cora whom I have been dancing with the last seven years, and Elena McWilliams who is a young and upcoming dancer. People who dance become family. We become a community within a community.”
