Meet Dawn Denton
Dawn Denton has been a registered nurse for 23 years and is proud to be representing her employer,
Atlantic General Hospital (AGH) in the 2010 edition of Dancing with Delmarva Stars. After spending the
majority of her nursing career in maternal child health services and then as a childbirth educator in the
Salisbury area, Dawn joined the AGH team in 2003 as the Community Education Manager. Dawn and her
team are responsible for providing quality education to community members about their health needs.
Originally from Roanoke, Virginia; Dawn has lived on the Eastern Shore for 21 years with Jerry, her
husband of 38 years. Together they have 2 children and 3 grandchildren. When she is not working or
practicing her refined dancing moves, she loves to travel and spend time with her family.
As a member of the medical community, Dawn is interested in the treatment and care of the cancer patient.
However, this cause is very near and dear to her heart as she is cancer survivor herself. In fact, as she is
spinning on the dance floor on May 22, she will also be celebrating her 5th anniversary of being cancer free.
Dawn has used her experience to help empathize with other cancer patients and encourages them to stay
positive and remind them of the community services available to them such as the Wellness Community.
Meet Dawn's Dance Instructor .........
Steve Cimo Dance Moves and Manners www.dancemovesandmanners.com 18363 Chaplain's Chapel Rd. Bridgeville, DE 19933 302-337-3656 scimo@prodigy.net Steve is a mild mannered CPA and President of the Delaware State Police Federal Credit Union by day and an avid ballroom dancer and dance instructor by night. Much like Mr. Sugiyama in the original version of the movie “Shall We Dance” Steve, a middle aged accountant, was looking for something that was missing in his life. Ten years ago he took his first dance lesson at an Arthur Murray Studio in Wilmington, Delaware and has been dancing in ballrooms across the Delmarva Peninsula ever since. He has attended Dance Classes and camps in New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland. His metamorphosis from a scared to death beginner to a confident social dancer has amazed his family and friends. Steve teaches ballroom dance with his wife Yvonne, director of Dance Moves & Manners. They began teaching to help others experience the joy dancing has brought to their lives. Dance Moves & Manners provides social ballroom and etiquette classes in Delaware’s Kent and Sussex Counties.
